Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-06-26 · Effective 2026-06-26

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the Leap37 iOS app ("Leap37", "the app"). By downloading or using the app you accept these Terms.

What the app is

Leap37 is an independent personal project that helps you apply the "37% rule" from optimal-stopping theory (the classic "secretary problem") to real-life sequential choices — such as apartment hunting, hiring, shopping, or dating. It calculates when to stop exploring and start committing, and lets you track options as you go. The app is provided free of charge and is supported by advertising.

Optional accounts and cloud sync

Leap37 is fully usable without an account. You may optionally sign in with Apple or Google to back up your decisions, sync them across your devices, and send feedback. You are responsible for keeping access to your sign-in provider secure, and you agree not to misuse the account or attempt to access other users' data. You can delete your account and the data stored for it at any time from within the app (Account → Delete account). How we handle account data is described in our Privacy Policy.

Advertising

Leap37 is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. By using the app you agree that it may display advertising, including a banner and occasional full-screen ads. Ads are provided by Google and other third parties we do not control; we are not responsible for the content of any ad or for any third-party site or product an ad links to. How ad-related data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

Guidance only — not professional advice

Leap37 is a decision-making aid provided for general informational purposes only. Its suggestions are based on a mathematical model that assumes options arrive in random order and cannot be revisited; real life rarely fits those assumptions perfectly. Nothing in the app is financial, investment, legal, medical, career, relationship, or other professional advice. Do not make important decisions solely on the basis of what the app suggests. You are solely responsible for the choices you make.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose and the accuracy or reliability of any calculation or recommendation. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Acceptable use

You agree to use Leap37 only for lawful, personal purposes, and not to reverse-engineer, resell, abuse, or misrepresent the app or its backend service. If you create an optional account, you agree not to misuse it, overload the service, or attempt to access data that is not yours.

Intellectual property

The app's code and design are © 2026 Andrey Lee Tsyplakov. The 37% rule and the underlying optimal-stopping mathematics are public knowledge and are not claimed as proprietary. Apple and the App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.; we are not affiliated with Apple beyond participating in the Apple Developer Program.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, Leap37 — including but not limited to any decision you make, lost profits, lost opportunities, or lost data.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes shall be resolved before the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
