This Privacy Policy describes how the Leap37 iOS app ("Leap37", "the app", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. Leap37 is an independent personal project that helps you decide when to stop looking and commit to a choice, using the 37% rule from optimal-stopping theory.
In short: Leap37 keeps your decisions on your device. Signing in is entirely optional; if you choose to sign in, we store your decisions and basic account details on our server only so they sync across your devices and so we can reply to feedback you send. Leap37 is free and shows ads supplied by Google AdMob — these ads are non-personalized, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites. We use no other analytics.
You can use every core feature — the calculator, the templates, and tracking your decisions —
without signing in. In this mode your decisions are stored only on your device via Apple's standard
UserDefaults, are not readable by us, and are removed when you delete the app — we never
receive them. To display ads, however, the app communicates with Google AdMob whether or not you are
signed in; see Advertising below.
Leap37 offers an optional account so you can back up your decisions and sync them across your devices. You create one with Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google. If — and only if — you sign in, we collect and store the following on our own server:
We use this information solely to provide the sync and feedback features. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or tracking, and we do not sell or rent it.
Leap37 is free and supported by ads served through Google AdMob. We show a small banner at the bottom of the main screens and an occasional full-screen ad when you create a new decision. Ads are shown to everyone, whether or not you sign in.
To serve and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK collects limited information such as a device identifier, coarse (non-precise) information about your device, and how you interact with an ad. By default we request non-personalized ads — ads based on general, contextual signals rather than a profile of your interests. We do not show an App Tracking Transparency prompt and do not use your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) to track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Google processes this data as an independent party under its own policies. To learn how Google uses information from apps that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Google's Privacy Policy.
Leap37 relies on a small number of services only to provide the optional account:
If you sign in, your account data is kept until you delete it. You can permanently delete your account and the decisions stored on our server at any time from inside the app (Account → Delete account). Signing out stops syncing and leaves your decisions on the device. Feedback messages may be retained after account deletion so we can address the issues you raised. Deleting the app removes everything stored locally on your device.
All communication between the app and our server is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), and your session token is stored in the iOS Keychain. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we minimize what we collect and protect it accordingly.
Leap37 is a general-audience app and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
You may access, correct, or delete your account data. The simplest way to delete everything we hold is Account → Delete account in the app. You may also email us with any request. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; we honor those requests.
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
