The app

Kottabos is an educational game that reconstructs kottabos, a game played at the ancient Greek symposium. It is provided for entertainment and historical interest. It depicts no real alcohol and encourages no drinking — "made for curiosity, not for drinking."

Acceptable use

When using online features (nicknames, leaderboard, multiplayer) you agree not to:

• choose offensive, impersonating, or infringing nicknames or messages;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the server or other players' sessions;
• use the app for any unlawful purpose.

We may remove nicknames or records and restrict access to online features to keep the service fair and available.

Objectionable content & moderation

Kottabos has zero tolerance for objectionable, abusive, or harassing content and for abusive users. To keep multiplayer safe:

• Chat messages and nicknames are automatically filtered for profanity.
• You can report any message and block any player from the match screen — tap a player's message to report or block them. Blocked players are hidden from you. You can manage blocked players in Settings → Safety.
• We review reports and remove offending content or users within 24 hours.

By using online features you agree not to post objectionable content; doing so may result in removal of your content and loss of access. To report abuse you can also email leetsyplakov@gmail.com.

Online features and availability

Online features depend on network connectivity and a server we operate on a best-effort basis. They may be changed, interrupted, or discontinued at any time. Single-player play is designed to work offline.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the app.

Privacy

Your use of online features is also governed by our Privacy Policy.

App Store

Kottabos is distributed through Apple's App Store. Your use of the app is also subject to Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Standard EULA") and the App Store Terms of Service. Where these terms are silent, Apple's Standard EULA applies. You acknowledge that Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and is not a party to these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms; the effective date above will change accordingly.
