Terms of Use

Last updated 2026-06-04 · Effective 2026-06-04

These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the TrustStars iOS app and Chrome extension ("TrustStars"). By using TrustStars you accept these Terms.

What it is

TrustStars is an independent tool that applies the Wilson confidence score to a product's average star rating and number of reviews, surfacing a conservative "trusted score" so you can compare products more fairly. It is provided free of charge.

Guidance only — not advice

TrustStars is provided for general informational purposes only. The trusted score is a statistical estimate based on the rating numbers you provide or that appear on a page; it is not a guarantee of product quality, and it is not purchasing, financial, or professional advice. Always use your own judgment before buying anything.

No warranty

TrustStars is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind. Ratings shown on third-party sites may be inaccurate, manipulated, or change over time, and detection of on-page ratings may occasionally be incomplete or incorrect. We do not warrant that the tool will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Acceptable use

Use TrustStars for lawful, personal purposes only. Do not reverse-engineer, resell, or misrepresent it. TrustStars is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Amazon, Apple, Google, or any retailer or marketplace whose pages it may read.

Intellectual property

The code and design are © 2026 Andrey Lee Tsyplakov. The Wilson score and underlying statistics are public knowledge and not claimed as proprietary. Apple, the App Store, Google, the Chrome Web Store, and Amazon are trademarks of their respective owners.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, TrustStars — including any purchasing decision you make.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes shall be resolved before the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
