This Privacy Policy describes how the TrustStars iOS app and the TrustStars Chrome extension ("TrustStars", "we") handle information. TrustStars helps you judge the star rating you can actually trust by applying the Wilson confidence score to a product's average rating and number of reviews.
In short: TrustStars collects no data about you, contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking, and sends nothing to us or any third party. Everything stays on your device.
The app stores the products you add to compare (a name you type, the average stars, and the
review count) on your device only, via Apple's standard UserDefaults. It makes no
network connections. This data is removed when you delete the app.
The extension reads the average rating and review-count numbers that are already
displayed on a product page you are viewing (for example, an Amazon product page) in
order to calculate and show the confidence-adjusted "trusted score." That reading happens
entirely within your browser. The comparison list you build is stored locally on your device via
chrome.storage.local. The extension makes no network requests and transmits nothing
to us or anyone else.
These permissions are used solely to read publicly displayed rating numbers and to store your list locally. No page content or personal information is collected or sent anywhere.
TrustStars integrates no third-party services, SDKs, or trackers. We do not share, sell, or rent any information — because there is nothing to share.
TrustStars is a general-audience tool. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone.
Because TrustStars collects no personal information, there is no record for us to access, correct, or delete. To remove everything stored on your device, delete the app or remove the extension from your browser.
We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
