Merdvakt shows Norwegian salmon-farm locations together with nearby vessel traffic (AIS) on one map, so you can watch what's happening around fish farms. It uses public open data from BarentsWatch / the Norwegian Coastal Administration. It is an informational tool, not a navigation or safety system.
Tap a farm and turn on an alarm, then pick the alert distance and trigger (on arrival, activity, or on leaving). When a vessel comes within that distance of a watched farm, you get a push notification. Alerts require notification permission and are best-effort — they can be delayed or missed, so don't rely on them for anything safety-critical.
Check that: notifications are allowed for Merdvakt in iOS Settings → Notifications → Merdvakt; at least one farm has its alarm turned on; and the vessel actually came within your alert distance. AIS coverage varies and positions can lag.

An optional auto-renewing subscription (US$2.99/month) that adds continuous live updates, alarms on unlimited farms, an alert distance up to 2 km, per-farm visitor history, weekly and monthly traffic trends, and fine-grained alert exclusions. Exploring the app is always free.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple. Manage or cancel anytime on your iPhone in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or in the App Store app. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the current period stays active until it ends.
Open Merdvakt → Settings → Merdvakt Live → "Restore purchases" while signed in with the same Apple Account you bought it on.
