Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the DopaEats iOS app ("DopaEats", "we") handles information. DopaEats is a simulated, for-entertainment food-delivery experience: you browse fictional restaurants and place pretend orders. No real food is sold or delivered, and no real payments are processed.

In short: DopaEats shows no ads, uses no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not track you across other apps or websites. We collect only what's needed to run and improve the app — first-party usage and interaction data, and (if you sign in) your account and the pretend orders you place, so they sync across your devices.

You can use DopaEats with or without an account

You can browse and place pretend orders as a guest, or sign in to save your activity across devices. The information we handle depends on which you choose, as described below.

What we collect

• Account information (only if you sign in). DopaEats lets you sign in with Sign in with Google or Sign in with Apple. When you do, we receive from that provider a stable user identifier, your email address, and your name. With Apple you may choose Hide My Email, in which case we receive a private relay address rather than your real one. We use this solely to create and recognize your account.
• Your simulated activity. The pretend orders and items you place are stored so your activity is preserved across sessions and — when you're signed in — across your devices.
• Usage & interaction data (first-party). To operate, understand, and improve the app, our own server records simple in-app events: app opens and approximate time spent, the screens you view and how long you spend on each, the in-app navigation path you take, buttons and controls you tap, how far you scroll on a screen, the restaurants and dishes you view, items you add to your cart, and the pretend orders you place. We use this to run app features — such as your order history and the "Kitchen" stats (money "saved" and calories "dodged") — and to understand which features are used so we can improve DopaEats. This is first-party analytics recorded by our own server; DopaEats integrates no third-party analytics SDKs. It is associated with a random per-install identifier (see below), not with your name or email.
• Per-install identifier. On first launch the app generates a random "client id" that is not derived from your device hardware and is not your name or email. It lets the app function and lets usage data work without identifying you. Deleting and reinstalling the app generates a new one.
• Delivery details you enter at checkout. See the next section — nothing is required, and no payment information is ever collected.

Checkout: an address, and no payment at all

Because the checkout is meant to feel real, it offers fields for a name and delivery address. None of it is required — you can place a pretend order without entering anything — and DopaEats never asks for, collects, stores, or transmits any payment or card information. If you're signed in and enter a delivery address, we save it with your account so a new device can restore it on login; as a guest it stays on your device only. You can change it in the app at any time, and deleting your account removes it from our server.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, DopaEats schedules local order-status updates (for example, "your order is on its way") on your device. These are generated on the device itself; we do not need or store a push token for them. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → DopaEats.

What we do not collect

• Any payment, card, or financial information — the app has no real purchases and no card fields.
• Your Google or Apple password — sign-in is handled by the provider; we never see it.
• Your location or contacts. The camera and microphone are used only if you choose to record a Community Reels video, and only while recording — never in the background. We never browse your photo library: the video picker runs outside the app and shares only the clip you explicitly choose.
• Any cross-app or cross-site tracking. DopaEats does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not use your advertising identifier (IDFA).
• No third-party analytics, crash-reporting, or marketing SDKs.

Advertising

DopaEats is free and ad-supported. Ads are served by Google AdMob (banners, occasional interstitials, in-feed native ads, and optional rewarded videos that unlock extras such as ad-gated restaurants or Live Video). To serve and frequency-cap ads, Google may collect device information, identifiers, and coarse usage data as described in Google's own privacy policy. Ads are shown non-personalized by default, and watching a rewarded video is always your choice — it is never required to browse or "order."

Affiliate links (Amazon)

Some screens — such as the order-confirmation screen — show affiliate links to products on Amazon. These are optional suggestions; tapping one leaves DopaEats and opens Amazon in your browser or the Amazon app. The link carries only our Amazon Associates tracking tag so Amazon can credit us for a qualifying purchase — DopaEats does not send Amazon any of your personal information, and we do not receive your name, address, or payment details back from Amazon. Once you are on Amazon, Amazon's own privacy notice and cookies govern what it collects. As an Amazon Associate, DopaEats earns from qualifying purchases; the price you pay is never affected.

AI profile picture (optional)

You can generate a fun, AI-created profile picture for yourself. When you tap to generate one, DopaEats sends your first name and the cuisines or dishes you've “ordered” in the app (plus the app's random install identifier) to our server, which uses third-party AI image providers (such as OpenAI and Google) to create a generic, invented portrait — never a photo of a real, identifiable person. The generated image is stored on our servers and shown as your profile picture in the app; you can regenerate it or stop using it at any time. We do not send your email, delivery address, or any payment information to generate it, and the picture is not shared with other users.

Reviews, comments & likes

You can post dish reviews and comments on Live Video clips. A submission is stored with the display name you post under and the app's random install identifier, and is moderated: it is visible only to you until we approve it. Other users can report a review or comment, and you can block a user so their posts no longer appear for you. Please don't include personal or sensitive information; we may edit or remove posts and may block installs that abuse the feature, and you can ask us to remove something you posted by emailing us. Likes on clips are stored under the app's random install identifier, and only aggregate counts are shown to others.

Live Video

Some restaurants offer short video clips ("Live Video"). Clips are downloaded once and kept on your device until you delete the app, so they are not re-downloaded every time you watch; playback happens on your device, and we keep no per-user viewing history beyond the standard usage events described above.

Community Reels (videos you upload)

Signed-in users can upload short videos for possible publication in the Reels tab. When you upload, we collect the video file, its optional caption, upload timestamps, and the sign-in it is linked to; approved videos are shown publicly with your display name. Videos are processed on your device before upload — location and other identifying metadata are stripped there — and are stored on our server (api.pythonenthusiast.com). Every upload is reviewed before publication and is visible only to you until approved. Published videos rotate out of the feed and by default are removed from our server about 30 days after upload; archived copies may be retained by the app owner under the license in the Terms of Use. Anyone appearing in a video may request its removal via email; deleting your account removes your pending uploads, and you can ask us to take down published ones.

App integrity

Requests to our catalog service include a shared app token so the service only answers the app. DopaEats also uses Apple's App Attest to confirm that submissions (reviews, comments, video uploads) come from a genuine, unmodified copy of the app, which protects the service from abuse. These checks produce a device-level integrity signal only; they do not identify you and are not used for tracking.

Where your data is stored

Account records, pretend orders, dish reviews, Live Video likes and comments, uploaded Community Reels videos, usage events, and — when you are signed in — your saved delivery address are stored on our own server at api.pythonenthusiast.com so they sync across your devices. Your cart and app preferences (and, as a guest, your saved address) are stored locally on your device and are removed when you delete the app.

Third parties

When you choose to sign in, Google or Apple acts as an identity provider; their handling of the sign-in is governed by their own privacy policies. Ads are served by Google AdMob (see "Advertising" above), and optional product links point to Amazon (see "Affiliate links" above), whose handling of your activity on its own site is governed by Amazon's privacy notice. Beyond that, DopaEats integrates no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, and we do not sell or rent your personal information.

Children

DopaEats is a general-audience app. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.

Your choices & account deletion

You can use the app as a guest, sign out at any time, and turn notifications on or off. If you have an account, you can delete it and all associated data from within the app (Profile → Delete account), or by emailing us at the address below. Deleting the app removes the data stored locally on your device.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent change.
